Bald eagles have a squeaky alarm call used near the nest. The “screaming” vocalization often associated with the bald eagle is actually a red-tailed hawk call. Eagles sometimes participate in “talon clasping” or “cartwheel displays” where two eagles clasp each other’s talons in mid-air and spin down, letting go only when they’ve almost reached the ground. This may be a courtship ritual as well as a territorial battle.
