Golden Lion Tamarins are typically very social animals are live in families of 2 to 8 others. These families consist of a breeding pair and their offspring. These babies will play a lot, while adults spend a lot of time grooming and huddling. Within these groups, they will forage together and share food. Tamarins are very territorial and will defend their areas with scent markings and vocalized threats. They spend most of their day in the trees and in holes to protect themselves from predators and to keep warm.
